The Muscatine Migrant Committee was founded in the summer of 1958 by a group of concerned ministers and laymen led by the Muscantine County Ministerial Association. The Committee received financial support from the National Council of Churches and the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation. At times the Iowa Dept. of Public Welfare also provided money.
